From Manual to Modern: How Falcon Risk Services Built Trust in Embedded AI Submission Processing

Watch the Insurance Journal Demo Day session where Falcon walks us through what it’s really like to work directly with the assistance of embedded AI on DigitalEdge Policy.

“I was so glad we partnered with Cogitate on this because they really are experts in our platform. So anytime they optimize the platform, they’re inherently optimizing our AI and vice versa because there’s really a synergy we need to maintain. “

– Nell Baird, AVP Operations, Falcon Risk Services

Overview:

Before Falcon Risk Services brought AI into their submission process, every professional liability, management liability, and cyber liability submission followed a manual process. An underwriter reviewed it, then handed it off to a team of underwriting assistants who typed the data into DigitalEdge Policy by hand. It worked, until volume picked up, putting greater demand on staffing.

In this Demo Day webinar, we sat down with Nell Baird, AVP of Operations at Falcon, to talk about what happened after they adopted Cogitate’s AI orchestration for their submission process. It’s a great opportunity to hear first hand, what AI adoption is like and what change management techniques Falcon used to bring this support to their underwriting team.

What you’ll see in this session
  • How a submission moves from an inbox to a fully populated file in DigitalEdge Policy, without anyone retyping a single field
  • The color coded confidence scoring that tells underwriters exactly where to look twice, and where they can trust the entry
  • How Falcon uses source highlighting to trace every data point back to the original document, for full transparency
  • The sign off step that keeps a the underwriter accountable for every submission, because CAIRA supports the work, it doesn’t replace the judgment
  • A behind the scenes look at the data Falcon uses to track fill rate and accuracy over time and work directly with Cogitate’s data science team to continually improve the model
Why this session is valuable:

A lot of AI conversations are limited to what the tool can do, how fast it works, what it might save you. This disussion goes much deeper. Nell walks through how her team built confidence in the new submission process, how working with Cogitate’s data science team they continously improve the model, and what techniques have been used to engage the underwriters in the process.

If you’re evaluating an AI submission orchestration, or you already have a solution and are trying to figure out how to get real adoption from your underwriting team, this is the conversation to watch.
